Ever wondered how we build a set?

I hope you enjoy seeing the different stages of constction for the Home I'm Darling set it was amazing to put together. Like a huge doll's house. I've put some tech talk in here for you, but forgot that you might not know what it all means! Booms are scaffold bars connected together to make frames or stands to hang things off Borders are big black bits of material 16m x 3m that hang from bars to cover the set or lighting bars Masking is used to hide what is going on behind the set usually Up and downers are bars that go up and down stage rather than across After seeing the model box we will be given a scaled plan to work from The roof has already been rigged in advance and wires are in place for the second stage wires are in place for the second stage You can see here what it looked like before we constructedthe first floor section This shows the roof of the Home I'm Darling set rigged. The Panto That Nearly Never Was - Part One

It gives me great pleasure to present to you, considering the Covid-19 situation The Panto That Nearly Never Was fit up. It was on, it was off, it was a pantomime from start to finish and we loved every minute of the process. In a covid safe and aware enviroment, we were able to take the first steps to bring a show to the good people of Flintshire and surrounding areas. Model Box Model Box 2 Mold Gauze Star Gauze Bare Portal S/L Portals S/R First things first...overheads! We wanted to make sure that everything that needed flying was up and out of they way. We had to strip and recover a couple of the portal legs first, save the old material, add a batton to the top and bottom to fly them sperately. You can see the bare portal legs on S/L in the above pictures The first two pictures are the model box and you can see that there isn't much space. What's a Passerella

Passerelle description at wikipedia You can see the scaffolding structure each section is built and each section allows space underneath The passerella brings the action closer to the audience it comes out from the stage creating space for the orchestra
